Former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema has taken to social media, to send a message of appreciation to former teammate Vinícius Jr.
As much comes on the back of the latest scintillating display put forth by Real’s explosive attacker.
Wide-man Vinícius, of course, positioned himself front and centre in the headlines in Spain late on Saturday night.
This came by way of a scintillating display, en route to his side’s rampant victory over La Liga title rivals Girona.
After opening the scoring from long range courtesy of a stunning strike early on, the Brazilian international then laid on Real’s 2nd, with a sumptuous outside of the boot assist for Jude Bellingham.
A thorn in the side of Girona’s backline all night long, Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti went as far as to label Vinícius ‘the best in the world’ in the aftermath of the matchup.
Such lofty praise has since been forthcoming by way of a host of other high-profile figures, too, with partner in crime Jude Bellingham having echoed the words of his manager on Sunday.
And, as alluded to above, joining the Viní love-in by way of social media a short time ago, was ex-Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema.
In a post on his official Instagram page, frontman Benzema unveiled a photo of his former teammate, accompanied by the simple caption:
“N.1” (Number 1).
