Ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League clash with Manchester United, Harry Kane was asked about the interest the Red Devils reportedly showed in him in the summer before his move to Germany.
Harry Kane is set to make his first Champions League appearance for Bayern Munich when the German champions welcome Manchester United to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
Manchester United were among the clubs linked with Kane over the summer, but he ultimately opted to join Bayern from Tottenham.
Ahead of Wednesday’s clash with the Red Devils, Kane was asked if a move to Manchester United or another English club was an option for him during the summer.
“I know there was some talks between a few clubs in the background but Bayern was a team I was really interested by. There weren’t many other discussions. My focus is on here. Obviously Manchester are a great club, but I decided to come here and I’m happy I have.,” Kane responded.
With Manchester United having lost two games in a row, Kane said that Bayern are expecting a “reaction” from Erik Ten Hag’s men tomorrow.
“United are going through a difficult period at the moment. We expect a reaction. We want to dictate the game at home and need to be wary of their qualities. They’re strong on the counter with quick players. We have to create plenty of chances.”
