Juventus join race for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund

Rasmus Hojlund is quickly becoming one of the most coveted strikers in Europe following an explosive breakout campaign.

According to Calciomercato, Juventus are the latest club to register interest in the Atalanta starlet, with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Premier League duo Arsenal and Newcastle United also keen.

The Danish marksman, often compared to Manchester City’s Erling Braut Haaland, has the whole of Europe paying attention following a string of impressive displays for club and country.

With his speed, explosiveness, good reading of the game, and eye for goal, Hojlund has all the makings of a top marksman, and his statistics speak for themselves.

The 20-year-old bagged seven goals and two assists despite starting 14 of his 23 league appearances for Atalanta heading into the international break.

However, the young striker has shown no signs of slowing down after bagging a hat-trick on his full international debut with Denmark in the 3-1 victory over Finland.

He followed that up with a brace in the subsequent Euro 2024 qualifier game against Kazakhstan, but the Danes lost 3-2 despite opening up a two-goal lead at half time.

Per the report, AC Milan and Juventus had been monitoring the player’s development during his Sturm Graz days but decided against acting on their interest before his €17 million move to Atalanta last summer.

However, Juventus could return for Hojlund next summer as they consider him the ideal profile to replace Dusan Vlahovic, whose long-term future at the Allianz Stadium remains uncertain.

Atalanta would prefer to keep the youngster at the Gewiss Stadium for at least one more season to continue his development under manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

However, they are braced for summer bids, with interest in the striker increasing with every performance but insist they will not accept offers less than €50m for the Danish forward.
