Juventus dealt fresh Timothy Weah injury blow

An update on the wellbeing of Juventus star Timothy Weah has come to the fore online today.

And the news will come as a blow to all of those hopeful of seeing the United States international back on the pitch this weekend.

Weah has been forced to sit out each of Juve’s last two fixtures, owing to a hamstring issue suffered against Verona.

The hope, in turn, was that the summer arrival in Turin would make use of the international break to fully recover, ahead of Sunday’s Scudetto showdown with Inter Milan.

As confirmed by Calciomercato, however, quite the opposite has in fact proven to be the case.

Weah, it is reported, picked up a fresh muscular problem whilst training at Continassa this week, with ensuing medical tests having pointed towards another incoming spell out of action.

The injury is understood to be linked to a pre-existing concern.

The 23-year-old has therefore been ruled out of the upcoming Derby d’Italia, leaving Massimilano Allegri with a major headache after compatriot Weston McKennie also picked up an injury whilst on international duty last week.
