Juventus boss Max Allegri hails Inter as title favourites after Empoli draw

Juventus boss Max Allegri has stated that Inter are the clear favourites for the Serie A title, as the Bianconeri were held to a 1-1 draw by Empoli earlier today.

The Old Lady went a man down early in the game, as Arek Milik was sent off for a high challenge. But Juve did take the lead in the second half through Dusan Vlahovic, who kept his impressive run going. Some minutes later, Tommaso Baldanzi equalised through a brilliant strike with his weaker foot.

The draw kept Juve on top, but Inter now have two games in hand and a chance to go four points clear at the top if they win both of their games in hand.

After the game, Allegri spoke about the game involving the two rivals that is coming up and he told DAZN (via TMW): “Beautiful match, wonderful to play and with a full stadium. We will go there to get a result, against the strongest team in the championship and with Inter being the clear favorite for the scudetto.”

Allegri was also asked about the upcoming game’s result and how much it would matter in the title race. He said:

“In football you have to play game after game. Today everyone thought it would be an easy victory and that wasn’t the case. Unforeseen events are just around the corner: today there were 10 of us left and sooner or later it had to happen.”
