Jude Bellingham is being called ‘classless’ after new footage revealed his actions during Real Madrid’s guard of honour as they collected their Copa del Rey runners-up medals on Saturday night. Barcelona emerged 3-2 winners, claiming their first silverware of the season, but much of the fallout has focussed on the lack of grace shown by their opponents.
Arguably, it was Antonio Rudiger’s actions that most soured the occasion after the defender threw ice at the referee and had to be restrained by several staff members post-match. He now faces a significant ban, while Lucas Vazquez was another of three players shown a red card after the final whistle.

Real Madrid defender is facing a potential long ban following his conduct during his side’s 3-2 defeat to Barcelona.
Tempers had been boiling long before the match, with reports suggesting that Los Blancos had considered pulling out of the final upon learning that Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea was the referee – one of many officials they believe to be biased against them. Yet, to steal the spotlight from Florentino Perez takes something extraordinary, and somehow, Bellingham has managed to do just that.

The Englishman hardly acknowledged the Barca players
Since joining the Spanish capital two summers ago, Bellingham has picked up a few undesirable traits. One of the most notable, as many would be able to guess, is his utter intolerance for losing. While his fiery determination can be an asset, it’s also led to numerous incidents where he’s been accused of ‘throwing his toys out of the pram.’
When it came time to collect their silver medals after the defeat, the Englishman was the only Real Madrid player who barely acknowledged his victorious opponents. While his teammates embraced, shook hands, and exchanged high-fives with the winning side, Bellingham ignored everyone, even pushing Raphinha away. Watch the incident below:
At half-time, the 22-year-old was already caught blaming the officials for their poor performance, and his meltdown and subsequent act of ignorance has got supporters from Barcelona and further afield slamming him. “So salty,” one X user said, while another remarked: “Bellingham is a shameful player.” Meanwhile, a third commented: “Shame on him”, and a fourth wrote:
“Bellingham is extremely arrogant. Classless.”
It now seems that Real Madrid will end their 2024/25 campaign without any silverware to boast about. After being knocked out by Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals and losing to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey, they may face a similar fate in La Liga, now trailing by four points with only five games remaining. And clearly, for some, that will feel like karma.
