Former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed his desire to return to the dugout.
The “Special One,” as he’s known, has been out of work since his January departure from AS Roma, but he has since been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
Mourinho remains a largely adored figure around the world of football and is expected to land a new job sooner rather than later.
“I’m ready to start again,” Mourinho said in interview with Fabrizio Romano.
“I don’t need to rest or think as usually happens – I’m ready.
“I feel strong and good, I’m really ready but I don’t want to make the wrong choice. I have to be patient. My objective is to start again next summer.”
Rumors have swirled about a potential return to his native Portugal or even a sensational comeback to former employers Chelsea and Manchester United. Mourinho, however, has remained tight-lipped about his next destination.
Mourinho’s last stint with Roma saw him deliver the Europa Conference League trophy, adding to his impressive collection.
While his recent years haven’t always been smooth sailing, his experience, tactical nous and knack for winning trophies remain undeniable.
There’s no doubt clubs will be lining up for his signature, with the question being which project ignites his fire once again.
Mourinho’s return to management will be highly anticipated and he’ll be looking to make his mark on wherever he lands next, reignite his managerial fire and write another chapter in an what is undeniably an illustrious career to date.
