‘It’s a little bomb’: Jerome Rothen reveals details on Luis Campos future at PSG

Former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder and current RMC analyst Jérome Rothen has revealed information pertaining to the future of the club’s Strategic Advisor Luis Campos.

In his radio show Rothen s’enflamme, the former Les Bleus international defended the under-fire Strategic Advisor, accusing former PSG Sporting director Antero Henrique, and close ally of President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, of attempting to harm the club and destroy the reputation of Campos, with whom he shares a frosty relationship:

“It’s a little bomb, a piece of news. As if by chance, Kylian Mbappé announced his intentions to leave and there are articles and leaks everywhere intending to smear Luis Campos. Mbappé is a special case. For everything else, PSG is a success for the moment.

We can’t say that the players that have arrived have been flops. Sure, some have taken time to adapt , but some who have arrived have already shown more than the end of their nose, for example Vitinha who is a real connector in the midfield, and others like Lucas Beraldo..

Everything is going well and there is one man in the club, well who WAS at the club at least, and remains in its entourage, who is talking.. Antero Henrique.

Henrique who wants to see Campos sacked at any cost. We know about his relationship with the president, his close relationship with the Qatari state.. he is doing everything to destroy Luis Campos. Who knows why he’s doing it? To take back power? How is the president, who apparently loves the club, able to accept this, regardless of his relationship with Henrique?

Antero Henrique is the former sporting director of PSG. He has a good relationship with Nasser and looked after another club under Qatari ownership: Braga.

Why am I breaking this news? The truth is that I wanted the week leading up to the Barcelona game in the Champions League to be positive, for the only remaining French representative in the competition. The problem is that PSG is chaos behind the scenes! And this guy,  for years and years since he left PSG, is trying to harm the club. I can’t believe they’re still letting him”.

Rothen’s rant is a real grenade for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of a crucial week for Luis Enrique’s side, facing Stade Rennais in the Coupe de France semi final tomorrow, Clermont Foot in Ligue 1 on Saturday, before a mouthwatering UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg against FC Barcelona next Wednesday.
