Italy’s reported EUROs squad revealed

Italy manager Luciano Spalletti has decided on his squad list for the Euros.

Italy will aim to defend their European crown next month after clinching it at the Wembley Stadium against England three years back. It is time for former Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti to take the reins and lead the Azzurri to a successful championship for the first team under him. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, here are the confirmed players for different departments:

In the goalkeeper’s camp, Spalletti has chosen Gianluigi Donnarumma, who will be the first choice. He was the penalty shootout hero on that jubilant night at Wembley and will look to lock down his goal yet again. Guglielmo Vicario’s performances with Tottenham have earned him a spot in the squad.

As for the midfield, Jorginho, Bryan Cristante, Nicolo Barella, Manuel Locatelli, Davide Frattessi and Lorenzo Pellegrini are Germany-bound.

Riccardo Calafiori has attained himself a call-up to the National Team. The other defenders selected are Matteo Darmian, Giorgio Scalvini, Francesco Acerbi, Alessandro Buongiorno, Gianluca Mancini, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Raoul Bellanova, Andrea Cambiaso, Federico Dimarco and Alessandro Bastoni.

In attack, hopeful names such as Mattia Zaccagni, Riccardo Orsolini and Matteo Politano miss out. The chosen ones are Gianluca Scamacca, Matteo Retegui, Giacomo Raspadori and Federico Chiesa.
