Isco’s allegations against Union Berlin

Isco’s representatives had made several allegations against Union Berlin as to why the transfer fell through, as reported by SportBild

It was supposed to be the transfer of deadline day. Former Real Madrid star Isco was due to sign for Union Berlin who are flying high in the Bundesliga right now. However, the deal broke down at the last minute. This led to both sides releasing statements and partially blaming each other.

Union’s sporting director Oliver Ruhnert said: “We would have liked to have seen Isco with us, but we have our limits! These were exceeded today, contrary to the previous agreement, so the transfer does not take place.”

SportBild cites Spanish newspaper El Mundo which reports that Isco was originally due to sign a 1.5-year contract at Union. However, when it came to signing the contracts, the offer received was just a six-month deal and for Isco not to be used in the Europa League. The Spanish outlet also reports that Isco’s salary and the commission for agent Jorge Mendes were an issue for Union.

Isco’s agency explained:In the course of the talks, we had to realize that our negotiating partner was no longer willing to move within the framework originally discussed.”

For now, the deal is over. However, the world of football moves quickly and you never know what is around the corner.
