Serie A giants Milan have been linked with a move for Manchester City’s Manuel Akanji in recent days but after facing rejection, Inter are now trying to land the defender.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that in these frenetic hours of the final transfer window, Inter, Marseille, and City are discussing this potential double deal, which also involves Benjamin Pavard’s potential switch to the French club as this will free up space for the Swiss to join Inter.
The Milan-Akanji deal fell through because the defender refused the Rossoneri’s offer. He wanted a team playing in the Champions League and Inter would certainly be a good fit for him.
Attempts are ongoing to sign the 30-year-old, with Marseille said to have keen admirers of Pavard for many weeks now. All three clubs are attempting a loan deal and moves can depend on the time left in the window.
