While the Serie A title race as well as the Champions League knockouts have Inter occupied, they continue to have one eye on the transfer market. The latest reports via TMW, suggest that the Nerrazzuri are pushing hard for the signature of Marseille winger Luis Henrique. The Brazilian has been deployed by Roberto De Zerbi as a right wing-back in his 3-4-3 system, to great success. He has scored 7 and assisted 5 this season and would add more goals to this Inter side. In Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system, he would alternate with Denzel Dumfries in the same right wing-back role.
The French club seemingly want something between €30-35m for the player, but Inter do not wish to pay more than €25m. What goes in their favour is the fact that the 23-year-old wants to play for them next season and that they have good connections with Marseille, having recently negotiated with them in deals for Joaquin Correa and Valentin Carboni.
This is an important phase in discussions, as demonstrated by the fact that Marseille sporting director Mehdi Benatia was spotted at the San Siro during the Coppa Italia Milan derby. Inter want to sign him as soon as the window opens and play him in the Club World Cup. To do so, they must get things done quickly as the likes of Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United are also interested in the Brazilian.
