Christian Ilzer’s side won each of their preseason games ahead of the new season.
TSG Hoffenheim end their preseason with a huge win against the newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Metz. The friendly game at Hoffenheim’s PreZero Arena was played for 120 minutes, much to the angst of Metz’s fans.
Wouter Burger, who signed from Stock City to replace Leeds-bound Anton Stach in Hoffenheim’s midfield, scored the opening goal. Former Köln attacker Tim Lemperle and Muhammed Damar, who spent last season at Elversberg, scored two goals each for the Sinsheim club.
Bernardo is another newcomer whose name is found in the scoresheet, while Germany U19 striker Max Moerstedt also joined the fun. If there is any surprise, Hoffenheim’s all-time top-scorer Andrej Kramarić only scored a single goal.
