Fábio Vieira revealed his dream of returning to Porto in an interview with DAZN. The Hamburger SV midfielder first joined the Portuguese giants at the age of eight.
“It’s the club I will always love. Porto is my club. I’m always open to a return to Porto.” Vieira spoke in an interview with DAZN. The Liga Portugal leaders added Seko Fofana to their midfield on deadline day, but their unbeaten league record also came to an end on Monday with a shocking defeat to Casa Pia.
Vieira, who left Porto to join Arsenal for €35 million in 2022, returned to his boyhood club last season. However, he was back to the Premier League side after the Club World Cup as the two clubs couldn’t reach a full agreement on a permanent transfer.
As a result, HSV signed the player on an initial loan deal in the summer. Hamburg have an option to permanently sign the 25-year-old, but the proposed €20 million transfer fee will be financially difficult for the newly-promoted Bundesliga club. Vieira continued his fine form in the Bundesliga as he helped Michael Polzin’s side to salvage a draw against FC Bayern Munich.
