Sky Germany reports that Hoffenheim are interested in bringing Bayer Leverkusen’s Nadiem Amiri back to the club after he initially left for Leverkusen in 2019.
Amiri would like to leave Leverkusen this summer and has decided against renewing his contract at the club, which expires in 2024. Former club Hoffenheim have shown interest and Amiri is open to a return to the club as well. There have been no negotiations between the two clubs as of yet.
The 26-year-old left Hoffenheim for Leverkusen in 2019 for €9m. Amiri had been used consistently until Gerardo Seoane took charge in 2021. This resulted in the attacking midfielder being shipped out on loan to Genoa for half of the 21/22 season.
Since his return and Xabi Alonso taking charge, Amiri has been used more consistently but has featured mainly from the bench.
Amiri is not the only player Hoffenheim are interested in bringing back to the club. Hoffenheim have already begun talks with Florian Grillitsch over a potential return as well.
