Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has admitted that he is altogether excited by the prospect of an impending injury return in his squad.
The sidelined star in question? Gavi.
The name of youngster Gavi has of course positioned itself back front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last couple of weeks.
This comes after the 20-year-old was at long last given the green light to rejoin group activities with the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad.
Gavi has been sidelined since late 2023, after suffering a torn ACL whilst lining out for Spain at international level.
Recent weeks have seen the midfield starlet take significant steps forward in his recovery, however, now considered as increasingly close to marking his comeback.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his side’s Champions League downing of Young Boys on Wednesday, the subject of Gavi’s return was therefore put to manager Hansi Flick.
And, in his response, the German tactician could not hide his excitement:
“I can’t wait for Gavi to come back. I can see the amazing quality he has in training.”
