Harry Kane scored Bayern Munich’s third goal against Hoffenheim as the Bundesliga resumed on Friday night following the winter break. According to Opta, Kane’s 22nd Bundesliga goal this season now equals the record for most goals scored by a player in the first half of the season, matching Robert Lewandowski’s 2020/21 tally.
Not only that, Bayern Munich have now scored in 65 consecutive Bundesliga home games, a new league record. Jamal Musiala opened the scoring inside 20 minutes but Hoffenheim will be disappointed not to take their chances to level the score. Musiala then doubled Bayern’s tally with 20 minutes remaining, before Kane scored in the 90th minute.

That win now puts Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich to within one point of leaders Bayer Leverkusen, who play at Augsburg on Saturday afternoon. Xabi Alonso’s side remain the only unbeaten team in the Bundesliga, while Bayern also hold a game in hand after their game against Union Berlin was postponed last month due to snow.
