Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has this evening provided an update on the wellbeing of midfield star Pedri.
This comes after the Spanish international was forced into a premature departure from the Blaugrana’s La Liga showdown with Atlético Madrid.
Pedri was for his part in from the off on Tuesday, for his first start in over a month.
And en route to an eventual 3-1 triumph for the reigning Spanish champions, the 23-year-old played a starring role, shining from his berth in the middle of the park.
During the 2nd-half, however, Pedri set alarm bells sounding across Catalunya’s capital, upon going to ground in evident discomfort.
From here, he was hooked from proceedings, amid fears of a potential injury setback.
Speaking to the media following the full-time whistle at the Spotify Camp Nou, the subject of Pedri’s wellbeing was therefore put to manager Hansi Flick.
And the German tactician’s response proved an altogether encouraging one, as Flick assured:
“Pedri is fine, he was just tired.”
