Nathan Ngoumou has started just 24 of his 63 Bundesliga games, but Borussia Mönchengladbach head coach Gerardo Seoane has backed his French attacker after playing a key role in the club’s 2-1 win at Stuttgart on Saturday.
Speaking in an interview with BILD, Seoane said: “He is a young player, I think he has made important steps in the last year and a half. Nathan showed in Stuttgart what strengths he can bring to the team, he is a player with good speed.”
Seoane also remains optimistic that Ngoumou can play a key role for Die Fohlen following his performance against Stuttgart: “We are convinced of Nathan’s qualities,” added Gladbach’s head coach. “He knows himself that he has to work on his finishing. If he increases his efficiency, he will score many goals for us in the future.”
Since his €8m move from Toulouse in August 2022, Ngoumou has played 70 games across all competitions, scoring eight and creating four. 49 of those games and all but one goal contribution has come under Seoane, who took charge from Daniel Farke in 2023.
