Jules Koundé’s second-half brace secured a comeback win for Barcelona against Eintracht Frankfurt in the return of Champions League football at Camp Nou. Hansi Flick spoke to the media about their opponents from the Bundesliga.
“Eintracht Frankfurt is a team with a lot of dynamism and pace,” said the former Bayern Munich and German national team coach. “They defended very well, and didn’t make it easy for us. They fought hard. When they had the ball, they brought a lot of speed to the pitch.”
The 60-year-old was happy with his team’s reaction after the break. “Apart from a few wrong decisions in the first half, we largely controlled the game. I’m very happy that we came back after going behind. We didn’t give up.”
Barcelona climbed to 14th in the Champions League’s table before tomorrow’s games. In Slavia Prague and Copenhagen, they will face two teams outside the qualification spots in the last two matchdays.
