With qualification for Euro 2024 already guaranteed, France look set to rotate heavily heading into the final match of the qualification campaign against Greece. William Saliba and Olivier Giroud are among the players set to return to the starting lineup.
France registered their largest-ever victory, beating Gibraltar 14-0 at the Allianz Riviera on Saturday, however, that team now looks set to be dismantled. The team that takes to the pitch in Athens will likely be almost unrecognisable. According to L’Équipe, only two players will retain their places: Antoine Griezmann and Adrien Rabiot.
Didier Deschamps has already confirmed that Brice Samba will start ahead of No.1 Mike Maignan. In front of him, Saliba and Axel Disai could be paired at centre-back, however, Jean-Clair Todibo, who started against Gibraltar but who was completely unchallenged, could retain his place. Giroud will come in up front with captain Kylian Mbappé set to drop to the bench. Griezmaan will wear the armband in his place.
