Backlash has been the post-WrestleMania Premium Live Event since its inception in 1999. It was discontinued in 2009, being replaced by Extreme Rules, but it returned in 2016 before making its way back to the post-WrestleMania slot in 2021. In the last couple of years, Backlash has taken place outside of the US, with the 2023 event taking place in Puerto Rico and last year’s taking place in Lyon, France, which meant a kinder start time for UK viewers.
This time around, however, this is not the case, with the Enterprise Center in St Louis, Missouri hosting its first Premium Live Event since Money in the Bank 2017.
WWE Backlash UK Start Time
It’ll be a late night for fans in the United Kingdom
Backlash is set to start at midnight in the UK and head into the early hours of Sunday morning. It will also be the fourth Premium Live Event to be streamed on Netflix in the UK, following the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania.

The main event will see the last ever match between John Cena and Randy Orton, but like we’ve never seen it before. Cena and Orton have faced each other 21 times one-on-one in WWE, with Cena winning 13 of those bouts. They have faced each other in a variety of different matches, including two Hell in a Cell matches, a TLC match, and arguably their best match coming with the ‘I Quit’ stipulation at Breaking Point 2009. But never have the two faced off with Cena as the bad guy, which is the situation for their match tonight.
Backlash takes place in St Louis, which is the hometown of Randy Orton, so the crowd will undoubtedly be behind The Viper as he looks for his 15th World Championship, a number which would only be bettered by Ric Flair with 16, and his opponent, with his WrestleMania 41 win over Cody Rhodes making Cena a record-breaking 17-time World Champion.
Their match is set to take place at around 3am and finish by around 4am.
