Everton prepared to make £13 million bid for 24-year-old midfield enforcer

Everton are reportedly keen to sign Benfica star Florentino Luís in the summer transfer window.

The Toffees attempted to seal a move for the 24-year-old by making a £25 million bid in January but their offer was turned down.

The Premier League outfit are set to revive their interest in the defensive midfielder as they are prepared to make a £13m bid this summer, per Maisfutebol

The Portuguese is said to have a £102m release clause in his current contract at the Eagles.

Everton’s financial troubles mean they will be looking to agree on a much lower fee than the release clause.

The Merseyside giants look in need of midfield reinforcements as they aim to make further progress under manager Sean Dyche next term.

Amadou Onana has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park, while Idrissa Gana Gueye has turned 34 and is unreliable due to his injury issues.

Florentino Luís could be an excellent acquisition for them as he is talented, young and has proved his abilities in Portugal.

The 24-year-old is highly rated for his ability to read the game, break down plays and aggressive tackling.

He has played an important role in helping Benfica finish second this season, featuring in 30 Primeira Liga games and averaging 2.6 tackles, 1.6 interceptions and 4.1 ball recoveries.
