Sky Germany reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are pushing to sign Copenhagen midfielder Oscar Højlund. He is the brother of Manchester United striker Rasmus.
Talks between everyone are currently advanced. If Højlund does join Frankfurt, the fee will likely be between €1-1.5m and he will sign a contract at the club until 2029. The Dane’s contract expires at the end of the season and he has also been linked with a move to VfB Stuttgart who are building a young team despite playing in the Champions League next season.
The 19-year-old spent most of last season in the youth leagues in Denmark but did make some appearances for the senior side even playing in the Champions League where he feautred, albeit briefly, against his brother at Old Trafford.
Frankfurt have shown in recent years that they are a great first step for players coming from Scandinavia with Jesper Lindstrøm coming from Denmark before moving on to Napoli. While Hugo Larsson has had a strong first season in the Bundesliga with Die Adler.
The only issue for Højlund is Frankfurt have a lot of depth in midfield.
