Eintracht Frankfurt officially unveiled French left-rail player Niels Nkounkou as a new signing on Friday afternoon.

he transfer of AS Saint-Etienne left-back/winger Niels Nkounkou to Germany’s commercial capital is through. Eintracht Frankfurt unveiled the 22-year-old on Friday afternoon. German broadcaster Sport1 reports that the SGE have paid approximately €7.5 million for the French youth international. Nkounko signed a five-year-contract to play for the RheinMain Adler.
“We already had Niels Nkounkou in our sights throughout the second half of last season and are delighted that we have succeeded in bringing him to our project at Eintracht,” SGE sporting director Timmo Hardung was quoted as saying in a club press release, “He is a highly talented player who impresses with his dynamism, assertiveness and determination. These elements will enhance our game.”
An impressive season in the French division last season saw Nkounkou increase his estimated market worth from €3 million to €5 million last year. He was also called up to the French U21 squad for this summer’s European championship and went the full 90 in three matches.
