Spanish media suggest that Borussia Dortmund could swap Thomas Meunier for FC Barcelona’s Sergino Dest.

Meunier has been linked with a move away from Signal Iduna Park, with Bild reporting that the 30-year-old has said he wants to leave after allegedly falling out with BVB head coach Edin Terzic.

The Belgian international himself has poured cold water on Bild’s report, calling it “propaganda”, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will stay.

Barcelona are among the clubs said to be monitoring Meunier’s situation, but the La Liga giants can’t meet Dortmund’s reported asking price of €15 million.

A solution to this problem could be a swap deal involving 21-year-old Dest, who plays no role under Xavi at the Catalan club, per Spanish newspaper Sport.

If Dortmund would be interested in such a swap deal remains open. BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl said over the weekend that he expected Meunier to stay.

“I do not know what will happen in the coming week. Currently, however, there have been no offers for him, and we’re also not planning with any,” he emphasized.
