Bayern Munich are not interested in buying back Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee for €40 million, according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
The 22-year-old left the Bundesliga club permanently in 2022 for the Serie A club after just 17 first-team appearances in Germany.
Zirkzee had loan spells at Parma and Anderlecht before moving to Bologna. He only scored twice in 21 games in his debut season but has since caught the attention of Arsenal and other suitors.
The Dutchman has bagged 12 goals and four assists in 37 games across all competitions and is one of the reasons why Bologna are third in the Serie A table with two games left.
Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan are keen on recruiting Zirkzee’s services, but Bologna would love to hold on to him as they prepare for the Champions League next term.
However, a move to the Premier League to join Arsenal could appeal to the youngster, given the recent fortunes of the club under manager Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners are challenging for the Premier League title for the second season running and are looking to bolster their attacking ranks this summer.
Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus could be sold, and Arsenal will need a replacement. Zirkzee could be the perfect signing given his age, qualities and huge potential.
With Bayern out of the way, Arsenal have a chance to land their man and they should not hesitate to pursue him this summer.
