Speaking to Movistar after Atlético Madrid’s late win over Porto on Wednesday, Diego Simeone gave his thoughts on the game.
“We didn’t play well. But we were fortunate and Griezmann scores the goal and we get the three points,” he said.
On Antoine Griezmann
“I love him very much. He’s one of the most important players in the history of Atlético Madrid. He’s giving us a lot when he comes on these last 25-30 minutes. He has to stay strong mentally.”
On Ángel Correa
“I wanted Correa to come on to play more centrally than Joao Félix, who was playing wide. Correa created chances going forward and we got an important win.”
On Gio Simeone scoring for Napoli against Liverpool
“I’m delighted for him.”
