Wednesday’s DFB-Pokal quarter-final match between Saarbrücken and Gladbach has been postponed due to heavy rain.

Heavy rainfall has forced the postponement of the DFB-Pokal quarter-final match between Saarbrücken and Borussia Mönchengladbach, which was due to take place on Wednesday evening.
The decision to postpone the match was made just minutes before the scheduled kickoff, as continuous rain in Saarbrücken made the pitch at the Ludwigsparkstadion unplayable.
“We would have loved to play. But when you look at the pitch, it was an absolutely correct and understandable decision not to play,” said Gladbach’s managing director of sport, Roland Virkus.
“There are places on the pitch where players have no grip and can slip. It’s just too dangerous, the health of the players comes first”.
