The powers that be at La Liga outfit Deportivo Alavés are close to wrapping up a deal for a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Matías Moreno as the player in question.
Moreno, for his part, is a 20-year-old central defender, who is currently plying his trade in his home country of Argentina, with Belgrano.
The youngster has long caught the eye with his performances in the Argentine top-flight, with the aforementioned Alavés having seemingly positioned themselves at the front of the queue for his services.
Amid an ongoing search for a replacement for the departed Rafa Marín, Moreno has been earmarked as the ideal profile.
Relevo, in turn, point towards a definitive agreement between the Babazorros and their counterparts at Belgrano as being ‘very close’.
The transfer is expected to be closed for a fee of around €1.85 million, enough to secure Alavés 50% of the player’s rights.
An official announcement on the matter could be forthcoming as soon as next week.
