Denis Suárez is set to join Espanyol from Celta Vigo this January before moving to Villarreal in the summer, reports Fabrizio Romano.
After falling out with Celta Vigo president Carlos Mouriño, the 29-year-old has not played a single minute so far this season. Earlier this month it was communicated that Suárez is close to joining Villarreal and it appears as though there is some clarity over the Spaniard’s future.
Celta Vigo have arrived at a deal with Espanyol that will see Suárez move to Barcelona until the end of the season. The former Arsenal midfielder will then join Villarreal in the summer transfer window.
The Yellow Submarine and Suárez have agreed a contract that will see the 29-year-old tied to the Estadio de la Cerámica until June 2026.
Barcelona will not be an unfamiliar city for Suárez as he played for the Blaugrana between 2016 and 2019.
