Crystal Palace have identified Bournemouth winger David Brooks as a potential target for the final days of the summer transfer window, according to a report from talkSPORT.
Palace are in the market for attacking options after Eberechi Eze was sold to Arsenal earlier in the window. The Eagles have been fairly quiet in the window so far, which could be a concern for supporters, especially as they have to tackle European football this season and the hectic fixture schedule that comes with that.
Palace enjoyed a successful 2024/2025 season, winning the FA Cup, which led to them qualifying for Europe. The Eagles should now be looking to go to the next level, building a squad capable of competing on all fronts, and replacing Eze while adding competition in attack will be imperative. Borna Sosa and Walter Benitez, two players who are likely to be backup options, are Palace’s only signings so far this summer.
Crystal Palace Eyeing Bournemouth Winger David Brooks
According to a report from talkSPORT, Crystal Palace are eyeing a move to sign Bournemouth winger Brooks. The Eagles are looking to add quality in the final third after Eze’s move to Arsenal was confirmed, and the Welsh international is into the final year of his contract, meaning Palace might be able to secure Brooks for a reasonable fee.
Palace’s incoming director of football, Matt Hobbs, is said to be a big admirer of Brooks, and Bournemouth must now decide whether to offer an extension or cash in, to avoid losing him for nothing next summer. Brooks is predominantly a right-sided attacker, and he could suit Oliver Glasner’s system as one of the attacking options behind the striker.
David Ornstein has also reported that Villarreal winger Yeremi Pino is flying to London to join Palace after the two clubs agreed a fee for the Spanish star. The Eagles appear to be targeting multiple players to replace Eze, rather than just one, and it’s no surprirse as they will need plenty of depth to deal with European football this season.
Spending a large chunk of the Eze money on a single replacement for him was never likely to happen, with Palace often preferring to find cheaper options with sell-on value.
