We are just over one week out from the rematch between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn, and although it could be argued that the hype leading into the rematch isn’t as high, it is certainly building as the fight draws closer. The two Brits will once again face off in front of a packed crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, and they will be looking to somehow top their clash earlier this year, which is the Event of the Year so far to many boxing fans.
The build-up to the first fight between Eubank Jr and Benn was a must-watch saga, and it included everything you would want in a fiery grudge match: trash talk, rival promoters clashing, and even the infamous egg slap. Although at the end of the 12th round of their first fight, the two fighters showed each other nothing but respect, the feud is arguably as alive as ever, especially after Eubank Jr came out after the fight and essentially accused Eddie Hearn and Benn’s team of trying to hold him at the stadium after the fight, despite him needing medical attention.
Eubank Jr has opened up several times about the terrible condition he was in after the fight, and has now posted a shocking photo of how he looked immediately after the fight. Although the way he has described it in the past seemed bad enough, the picture he has released seems to have shown that he may have actually undersold just how bad a condition he was in.
Chris Eubank Jr Shocks Boxing Fans With Picture of Himself After First Conor Benn Fight
Chris Eubank Jr had practically everything going against him in his first fight against Conor Benn earlier this year. Not only did he have to go through an excruciating weight cut and abide by a controversial rehydration clause, but he has also claimed several times that after the fight ended, the ambulance he was in was blocked from leaving the stadium to go to the hospital, despite him needing urgent medical attention.
“This is footage of my ambulance being blocked from leaving Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.”
Every boxing fan is aware of just what a brutal war both Eubank Jr and Benn went through in their first fight, however, the photo which Eubank Jr posted to social media of himself right after the fight really puts into perspective just what damage was done.
The rematch takes place on the 15th of November, with ring-walks expected at 9.35 p.m. local time (4.35 p.m. ET). The event airs on DAZN.
