Following his €3 million move from Real Madrid to VfB Stuttgart in the summer, Chema Andrés has made a flying start to life in Germany.
Speaking to Radioestadio Noche, the 20-year-old reflected on his first few months at the Bundesliga club, for whom he scored on his league debut.
“It’s not typical for me to score goals, but debuting with a goal in Stuttgart was an incredible welcome,” he said.
“We didn’t start too well, but things are going better now. Everyone has to follow their own path, and this was the best option for my development. I’ve been surprised by the passion for football in Germany.”
Despite enjoying life at Stuttgart, Andrés still hopes to return to Real Madrid one day.
“Of course, Real Madrid is a dream for every player, and hopefully one day I can return. Everyone knows it’s the biggest club in world football, but there’s more to the game beyond that. I feel very happy in Germany, and I never imagined it would be this good.”
