Chelsea open to Malo Gusto sale

Chelsea are open to selling France international Malo Gusto (23), as per a report from Sacha Tavolieri.

Gusto earned considerable minutes last season. He was an important player under Enzo Maresca and then Liam Rosenior, given that Reece James’ load had to be managed throughout the season.

Chelsea valued the former Olympique Lyonnais full-back at €75m over the summer, which prevented Manchester City from making their move. Tavolieri understands that the likes of Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, and Paris Saint-Germain were all also interested in the player. All were put off by the price tag, which may decrease now that Chelsea are more open to a sale. He won’t be available at any price, however.

Gusto’s priority remains to establish himself as an important player at Stamford Bridge. However, the emergence of Josh Acheampong and the lack of games, due to Chelsea’s failure to qualify for any form of European football, could limit his opportunities this season.
