Chelsea now have ‘deal sheet ready’ for Enzo Fernandez at Stamford Bridge – GiveMeSport

Chelsea have a deal sheet ‘ready to go’ as they look to get Enzo Fernandez’s move from Benfica over the line at Stamford Bridge, journalist Simon Phillips has told GiveMeSport.

Blues co-owner Todd Boehly has reached a big-money agreement ahead of the January window slamming shut at 11pm.

Chelsea transfer news – Enzo Fernandez

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are on the verge of completing the signing of Fernandez less than an hour ahead of the deadline.

The respected journalist suggests the west Londoners have reached an agreement with Benfica and they are now rushing to get the documents signed.

It is understood that Fernandez is set to pen an eight-and-a-half year contract, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2031, and he has always been open to completing the switch.

The Blues made a £105.6million bid for the 22-year-old central midfielder, which matches the release clause written into his Benfica contract.

Fernandez is undergoing a medical at Lisbon’s Hospital of Light as Chelsea frantically look to get their man at the eleventh hour.

What has Simon Phillips said about Fernandez?

Phillips understands that Chelsea have completed a deal sheet, giving them extra breathing space as they look to sign Fernandez.

The journalist is optimistic that the Blues will complete the acquisition of the Argentina international as the deal sheet means they can go beyond the 11pm deadline.

Phillips told GiveMeSport: “I’ve been told that Chelsea have the deal sheet ready, filled in and ready to go.

“They’ve already got terms for the extension as well, so they can go over the deadline as long as that deal sheet is there and signed like it is, so it doesn’t have to be done by 11pm. I’m pretty confident the deal will be done.”

Could there be any Chelsea departures in the final stages of the window?

According to Romano, Hakim Ziyech is on the verge of joining reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

But he may not be the only late departure as Omari Hutchinson is undergoing a medical ahead of a loan move to Championship side West Bromwich Albion.

There has already been one big-name departure from Chelsea on deadline day as Jorginho has completed a £12million transfer to London rivals Arsenal.

The Italy international had entered the final six months of his £110,000-per-week contract at Stamford Bridge.
