Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing PSV winger Noni Madueke.
However, they could miss out on the 20-year-old due to Cody Gakpo’s move to Liverpool.
Reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive column for Caughtoffside claimed the Blues are admirers of the English footballer. However, the Dutch outfit have already lost Gakpo this winter and are said to be reluctant to lose another important player.
PSV’s asking price would likely be around €35 million but sealing a deal is thought to be difficult even if Chelsea meet that valuation.
Madueke had a spell at Tottenham Hotspur as a youngster before moving to the Netherlands in 2018.
He has been impressive at PSV so far, with the winger already earning 79 senior appearances at such a young age.
Busy January transfer window
Graham Potter’s side have been massively struggling this season in the Premier League. They are sitting 10th in the English league, with just 25 points from 17 matches.
Chelsea’s present situation is very shocking considering they spent a club record £273 million (including add-ons) in the summer transfer window.
Wesley Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella and Raheem Sterling all arrived at Stamford Bridge in big money transfers in the previous window.
But despite their summer splurge, the Blues have also been very active in the January transfer window so far.
They have already signed Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos and David Datro Fofana while Joao Felix is also said to be very close to a loan move to West London.
