The Argentinian is under fire are Sunday’s 4-2 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers as boos rang out around Stamford Bridge at full-time. “We are feeling the pressure at the moment, we are not matching the history of the club, that is true,” reacted the Argentinian manager post-match.
According to Sports Zone, Chelsea’s owners are potentially considering an immediate change of manager. Bayer Leverkusen’s Alonso, a potential summer target for Liverpool and Bayern Munich, is liked by Behdad Eghbali, who is willing to bring in the Spaniard immediately. However, Todd Boehly may be more reticent to an immediate managerial change at the club.
Despite another summer of heavy investment in the playing squad, Chelsea have failed to progress this season, and currently sit 11th in the Premier League. The Blues have conceded eight goals in their last two Premier League games, however, they remain in both cup competitions, with an EFL Cup final against Liverpool coming up later this month.
