Celta Vigo have begun talks with Al-Ahli over the return of former player Gabri Veiga, report AS via EFE.
The move would be a loan deal until the end of the current season. Both clubs agreed a transfer for the Spanish midfielder in August, in a deal worth €30 million, however, Veiga’s time in the Saudi Pro League has not gone as expected.
He has played nine games (689 minutes) scoring just one goal. The return of the midfielder would be a boost for a struggling Celta side, who are in the relegation zone in La Liga.
Last season, Veiga played 36 league games and scored 11 goals from midfield, two of them in the decisive match against Barcelona on the last day of the season, when the Galician outfit stayed up.
