Valencia comfortably beat Celta Vigo 3-0 at the Mestalla on Saturday thanks to goals from Samu Castillejo, Marcos André and André Almeida.
Marca have noted that Celta Vigo appear to be over reliant on Iago Aspas, who has scored five of the club’s eight goals so far this season in La Liga.
The 35-year-old had an amazing start to the season, scoring five goals in the first four games of Celta Vigo’s La Liga campaign. However, he failed to hit the back of the net in Os Celestes’ last two matches.
So far the Galician side haven’t won a game in which Iago Aspas hasn’t scored in, further demonstrating the club’s heavy reliance on goals from the striker.
When Aspas renewed his contract during the summer transfer window, few thought that he would be Celta Vigo’s main outlet for goals.
All signs lead to the conclusion that other players in the team need to step up and get on the score sheet if Os Celestes want to push for the European places.
