Can Joao Cancelo play for Bayern Munich against his parent club Manchester City in the Champions League? Yes, according to Bild.
Bayern Munich will face Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in what will be a special tie for a number of reasons.
Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané will take on his former team, while Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will face his former employer. In addition, it will be a chance for Joao Cancelo to play against his parent club.
According to Bild, there is nothing stopping Cancelo, who joined Bayern on loan from Manchester City in January, from playing against his parent club.
The 28-year-old right-back is on loan at Bayern until the end of the season. The German champions can tie him down to a permanent deal for a reported fee of €70 million.
