BVB II winger Bamba to join VfL, Hettwer may follow, Antwi-Adjei to re-sign

Multiple German footballing media sources report that VfL Bochum are poised to sign BVB II winger Samuel Bamba. Germany’s Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung reports that Bamba’s BVB II teammate Julian Hettwer may be set to follow soon.

Germany’s preeminent footballing publication also reports that Bochum appear set to retain the services of speedy winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei; whose contract is set to expire at the end of the month.

Germany’s main sporting tabloid and North-Rhine Westphalia’s “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung” both report that BVB II winger Samuel Bamba is set to sign for Ruhr rivals VfL Bochum. The 20-year-old made 21 appearances for the Dortmund reserves in the 3. Liga this past season. Bamba was also tapped for the senior team’s match-day squad on four occasions by BVB trainer Edin Terzic. He made two appearances as a substitute on match-day 15 and match-day 16.

Bamba is available as a free agent after his contract with Dortmund was not renewed at the end of the season. The son of former Rot-Weiß Ahlen professional Musemestre Bamba maintains an estimated market worth of €800,000 in the latest transfermarkt listings. The “WAZ” newspaper reports that Bochum are prepared to pay roughly that amount to sign Bamba’s BVB II teammate Julian Hettwer, who scored seven goals and chipped in 10 assists for the Dortmund reserves this year.

Bamba and Hettwer both work as attacking wingers. The Revierklub are known to be on seriously shaky ground after narrowly avoiding relegation and losing some of their best players. Germany’s Kicker Magazine currently reports that Bochum will at least retain the services of Christopher Antwi-Adjei. The 30-year-old winger has been known to be in negotiations over extending his contract. It at least appears as if the relegation playoff winners shall remain well stocked on the flanks.
