High flying Bayern Munich host Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday in a fixture that could potentially be very important in the Bundesliga title race.
Bayern have enjoyed the perfect start to their season so far by winning all four of their opening matches.
Their opponents are currently sat just behind them in second place after collecting nine out of a possible 12 points so far.
Vincent Kompany’s side are coming off the back of a 5-0 victory away against Werder Bremen with summer signing Michael Olise scoring twice and providing two assists while Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and Harry Kane provided more goals – the Englishmen has now already reached ten goals in all competitions this season.
Bayern are in fine goalscoring form having scored 20 goals in their last three games and 29 goals in total this season.
Bayer Leverkusen have also had a positive start this season by winning six out of their seven matches in all competitions, but performances haven’t always been at the standard they set last season and they have conceded 11 goals already.
In their last game, Xabi Alonso’s side won in typical Leverkusen fashion as they scored a late winner which they did so many times last season to help secure the title.
It was Victor Boniface who provided the 93rd minute goal to secure the 4-3 win over Wolfsburg.
Bayern will be seeking revenge after losing the previous fixture 3-0 and not being able to defeat Leverkusen in the past three matches.
Dubbed ‘Goaltoberfest’ given it’s Oktoberfest season in Bavaria, and with the goals already scored by both teams this season, the DFL have released a hype video ahead of this top of the table clash.
