According to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, Stade Brestois want to sign Villarreal’s Étienne Capoue (36).
Brest have not been very active in the transfer market this summer despite the club being keen to strengthen ahead of a unique challenge where they’ll compete in the Champions League for the first time in their history.
The priority for the club had been bringing in reinforcements for their depleted forward line as the squad lost both Steve Mounié (29) and Martín Satriano (23) with the latter returning to Inter Milan following his loan (although Brest have reportedly reached an agreement with Inter to bring the striker back to the club).
Brest turn their attention to Étienne Capoue
The arrival of Ludovic Ajorque (30) has lessened that burden and allowed Brest to address finding a replacement for Pierre Lees-Melou (31) who looks set to leave the side this summer. Capoue could provide that role and deliver some European experience to the squad – with the Frenchman having played a key role in Villarreal’s Europa League victory in 2021.
