Borussia Dortmund have announced their squad, via Ruhr Nachrichten, for the 2023/24 Champions League.
Die Schwarzgelben start their campaign against Paris Saint-Germain next week before hosting Milan and then travelling to Newcastle.
Among noticeable absentees are full-backs Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey, who are both injured. Antonios Papadopoulos has also been omitted which means Dortmund are without three defenders.
Also missing is Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, but this is because he qualifies for the B List, which only has to be submitted to UEFA by midnight the day prior to a Champions League game.
Each participating club must submit a squad with a maximum of 25 players, including at least two goalkeepers and eight ‘locally trained players.’ These are:
- Club-trained players who were on a club’s books for three entire seasons or 36 months between the ages of 15 and 21.
- Association-trained players who were on another club’s books in the same association for three entire seasons or 36 months between the ages of 15 and 21.
Goalkeepers: Kobel, Meyer, Ostrzinski, Lotka
Defenders: Schlotterbeck, Bensebaini, Hummels, Can, Süle, Ryerson
Midfielders: Özcan, Reyna, Nmecha, Reus, Duranville, Wolf, Brandt, Sabitzer
Strikers: Haller, Füllkrug, Moukoko, Malen, Adeyemi
B List: Semic, Blank, Bueno, Kamara, Bynoe-Gittens, Bamba
