Bologna star Lewis Ferguson’s agent: “There are big clubs following him”

Serie A side Bologna have impressed this season and Scottish midfielder Lewis Ferguson has been key in the charge. His agent has now revealed that big clubs are indeed keeping tabs on the player.

The 24-year-old has played 21 times this season in the Serie A, scoring five times and picking up three assists as well. He recently scored against Sassuolo, but he has also scored against Atalanta, Lazio and Juventus so far.

His agent Bill McMurdo has spoken about the future of the 24-year-old, who has been linked with a host of clubs. He told SportItalia (via SOS) that he is aware of interest from various clubs in Italy, but no clubs made an offer for him in January as Bologna were keen on keeping him.

He said: “He is a player who, as Thiago Motta himself explained, is capable of covering multiple positions on the pitch very well and this is certainly an important quality for a 24 year old boy. In January no club came forward for him, due to Bologna’s clear intention to consider him untransferable, but we are aware that there are big clubs following him.”

McMurdo went on to state that when the right offer comes in for him, both parties will talk about making the right decision for the Scotsman.

“When the right time comes , both for the player and for the club, I am sure that he will take this important step in his career.”

Ferguson had joined Bologna from Scottish side Aberdeen in the summer of 2022.
