Bayern Munich have ruled out the possibility of signing Egypt international Mohamed Salah from Liverpool, after the two-time Premier League champion’s explosive interview following their 3-3 draw against Leeds United.
Salah felt as though he had been “thrown under the bus” after being placed on the bench for Liverpool’s last three league games, two of which he was unused.
Speaking to DAZN ahead of Bayern Munich’s 3-1 win against Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League, Max Eberl ruled out a move for the 33-year-old.
“We have an outstanding talent in Lennart Karl,” said Bayern’s board member for sport (h/t: iMiaSanMia). “Putting someone ahead of him now makes absolutely no sense.”
Lennart Karl makes Champions League history
On a night when Karl made UCL history, becoming the youngest player to score in three successive games, against Sporting CP, Salah was dropped from Liverpool’s matchday squad against Inter.
