Bayern Munich hold talks with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting

Representatives of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (33) met with Bayern Munich officials today to discuss the contract extension of the Cameroonian forward, according to Sky Germany.

Hasan Salihamidžić, Marco Neppe, Choupo-Moting’s father, and Roger Wittmann, the forward’s agent, were all in Munich today to discuss the player’s future. Choupo-Moting has six months remaining on his current deal and has become an important player at the club following the departure of Robert Lewandowski, after Julian Nagelsmann changed system.

Although happy at the club, Choupo-Moting doesn’t want to be a backup at Bayern Munich next season, whilst Manchester United have also shown an interest in the Cameroonian, and are pushing for a winter transfer, according to Plettenberg.

Missing the opening four games of the season, Choupo-Moting played a bit-part role until MD10 in the Bundesliga. Since his inclusion in Nagelsmann’s starting XI, the former Schalke and Stoke City forward has scored six and created two in his last six Bundesliga games, and has three Champions League goals in four games this season.
