According to Kicker, Bayern Munich held a meeting with Rafael Leão’s representatives last week, with the player open to making the move to the Bavarians. However, AC Milan’s asking price could prove to be a stumbling block.
Following their failure to land Florian Wirtz, Bayern Munich have shifted focus to alternative targets – with AC Milan’s Rafael Leão emerging as one of the main candidates.
According to Kicker, Bayern officials held talks with Leão’s representatives in Munich last week, with the Portuguese international not averse to making the move to Bavaria.
However, questions remain over whether Bayern can strike a deal with Milan. New head coach Massimiliano Allegri is said to be determined to keep Leão, and a potential transfer fee of €100 million has been floated.
That figure is in the same region Bayern were reportedly willing to pay for Wirtz, who was seen as their top target. It’s difficult to imagine the club valuing Leão at a similar level.
Still, despite the obstacles, Leão’s reported openness to a move provides Bayern with a solid starting point as they consider their next steps in the transfer market.
