Barcelona have undergone significant transformations this summer, with key departures such as Ousmane Dembélé, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets, while new arrivals João Cancelo and João Félix are expected to play crucial roles this season.
Director of football Mateu Alemany has made way for Deco, the primary builder of the current squad. Despite Deco’s usual preference for a specific signing limit, this guideline was not stuck to during the recent summer transfer window.
According to reports from Sport, via ED, Barcelona have adopted a policy to refrain from signing players over the age of 30.
Deco is working on a strategy centered on trusting young, physically robust and athletic players who still possess a strong competitive drive, which is a quality that’s sometimes challenging to find in more experienced footballers when they move to a gigantic club like Barça.
